Photographer documents the disappearing rest stops of the American roadside

Photographer Ryann Ford has put together a nice little book about the vanishing architecture of American rest stops. Her adventures on the road have brought her through New Mexico, Texas, California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, and Louisiana -- all in search of the rest stop that has gone unfunded, forgotten, and ultimately set to be destroyed and demolished soon.

The book she has put together was initially funded on Kickstarter but has since been picked up by powerHouse Books. You can buy it at the link below.
