Test Driving Bran Ferren's KiraVan, the ultimate explorer vehicle

This is just incredible. Bran Ferren, the former President of Research and Development of Walt Disney Imagineering and Chief Creative Officer of Applied Minds (the company responsible for multi-touch gestures and the technology behind Google's Knowledge Graph, among many other inventions and patents), has unveiled his latest project called the KiraVan.

The KiraVan is a go-anywhere monster of a vehicle. It's what would result if you combined the technology of the International Space Station into a vehicle the size of a tractor trailer. The KiraVan has everything to survive in any terrain -- living quarters, lounge space, on-board video technology, a host of high-tech on-board sensors to detect things inside and outside the vehicle, and satellite communication to make sure you're never out of reach. It even pulls along a last-resort motorcycle known as the KiraBike to get out of any situation as swiftly as possible.

James Bond and Batman, eat your heart out. This thing is so cool and MOTHERBOARD gets a first look at it on its maiden drive.
