New York Comic Con 2016

Another year at New York Comic Con. Man, I feel exhausted just looking at this photo. I feel like NYCC gets more and more hectic every year and I feel like that is directly related to the rise in nerd and geek culture. Comics are now mainstream forms of entertainment and increasingly being used as inspiration for big budget movies and TV shows and with that comes the fans who just want to get the latest and greatest info from the horse's mouth. That's NYCC. And boy is it crowded.

The Javits center is a huge place and even there it seems like it cannot contain the crowds. It's hard to walk through the aisles and look at stuff when people are literally shoulder to shoulder trying to inch their way through (or stopping for photos). It's still a lot of fun but I'm not entirely sure it's really worth it unless you're absolutely a die-hard fan of one of the panel discussion topics. Otherwise, it's just a big marketplace for expensive things. In the coming days I'll post a few things that I thought were pretty noteworthy from my trip there.
