How hackers can steal your information by social engineering

Whoa, BoingBoing just posted this video from Fusion's RealFuture showing how a hacker can easily obtain information on you simply through "social engineering". What's that? That's a person being insanely persuasive (through the use of sound effects, like a baby crying in the background) to entice somebody to hand over information and make them believe that the hacker is indeed calling in good faith.

It's so easy and I know how far this can go because I often use this sort of thing to get into buildings when I go exploring. I just never thought it could be used to get information so easily.
