Creative Time: Pedro Reyes' Doomocracy
Pedro Reyes' Doomocracy was probably the best art exhibit I went to in 2016. It was housed in the Brooklyn Army Terminal and consisted of a number of rooms all set up to show what our lives might be like if a tyrannical leader were in charge of the US. The show was incredibly poignant because I went to it just days before the November elections, never once thinking that this could ever be reality. Now, here we are constantly faced with the fact that this could indeed be closer to reality than many of us thought.
Like the Zagat Tiny Cafe, I guess it took me so long to write about this because I was hoping I'd have more of these collected to make a more significant post. I'm just clearing these for the new year I suppose so they don't greet me every time I open my browser.
