A "real" Rembrandt can now be 3D printed

What? This is seriously some crazy stuff! After 347 years since he left this world, scientists, researchers, and 3D printing technology have come up with a way to create a new work of art that is, by definition and identification purposes, a "real" Rembrandt painting.

By analyzing nearly every work of art he has ever created, researchers were able to figure out the most common subject (a white male in dark clothing wearing a collar) and how that subject might look. Then using a 3D printer, they compiled this data and printed the painting as if Rembrandt had painted it himself --  brushstrokes and all!

Of course, the problem here is that while this entire process can indeed create a new painting based on already-created works of art, it leaves out the true mark of why Rembrandt is considered such a great artist in history. He created this look. It wasn't just an average of all the things he was seeing which this algorithm developed here unfortunately is. If you asked it to create something truly new, I doubt it would be able to.
