The density of an airplane as explained through an average-sized apartment

Read this article over at The Washington Post about the relative density of a typical 737 aircraft as compared to the average apartment. When you cram that many people into that sort of tiny space on an airplane, the average space per person comes out to something like 7 square feet per person. Ugh.

Pretty surprising that we've let this get to this point. But honestly, I guess the same could be said about a bus. So...wait, why am I writing about this again? I'm not sure.
