Fujifilm X70 vs Ricoh GR vs Sony RX100 IV
Lots of new tech to drool over lately. I feel like everything I have/use has been updated recently and while I'm trying not to fall victim to compulsive buying disorder, I can't help but be interested in the latest developments in the field of my expertise -- photography.
The Verge just gave the new Fujifilm X70 a pretty great rating. For years I shot almost exclusively on Canon cameras (including their compacts), but three years ago I purchased a Fujifilm X100s and have thoroughly enjoyed the shooting experience with it. To this day I still use the X100s but lately the image quality has just been lacking. Even when compared to an aging Canon 5D Mark II!
So while I'm not exactly looking for a new DSLR, I am sort of looking to see if a new compact camera comes into view -- mainly for shooting concert photography unofficially. :P The contenders so far are the Fujifilm X70 (or the Ricoh GR, which is basically the same camera just with different body styling) and the Sony RX100 IV. Spec-wise, the RX100 IV wins, but the X70 has all those wonderful manual dials that I love from my X100s. I wish the two of these cameras would mate and make a mixed baby.
