Airplanes can fly just fine with 1 engine
I was reading a news story today about the Southwest Airlines flight that experienced an unfortunate engine failure during flight. The story is scary enough but the photo is truly something else. But don't worry! It turns out that commercial airplanes are stress tested and certified to fly with just one engine.
In the video above, Boeing demonstrates how a 787 Dreamliner can actually fly just fine with 1 working engine. And if that wasn't uncomfortable enough for you, maybe you'll enjoy the two videos below that show a Boeing 747-8 going through some rejected take-offs and mid-air stalls. FUN TIMES!
