Amazon now operates its own airline

Rumors have been flying around in the last year or so of Amazon possibly purchasing a fleet of planes to help them make deliveries even faster for customers. Now, Amazon has officially launched Prime Air.

The plane is part of Amazon's larger plan to reign in every part of the order and delivery process. At the moment, Amazon still relies heavily on carriers like the USPS and UPS (and other local delivery services) to be the end point between product and customer. With Prime Air, Amazon hopes to remove that last bit of headache and possible unknown.

And now, there's talk that maybe, sometime down the road, Amazon will launch a passenger airline. OMG. That would be neat (maybe).
