How an IMAX projection system is set up

This makes me really appreciate a true IMAX theater. Unfortunately, the IMAX name has recently been used by many theaters to advertise and drive ticket sales, but there's a big difference between true IMAX projections and what some are calling "lieMAX" theaters (rule of thumb: If your local theater one day suddenly shows IMAX movies but you didn't see major construction going on, it's a lieMAX).

For those wondering, the only true IMAX theater in NYC is the New York AMC Loews Lincoln Square. If you're paying for IMAX at any other theater (IMAX prices are usually more), then you are not getting the full experience.
