Range Rover's Velar touchscreen console is a continuation of a terrible car design trend

Here's a video review of the Range Rover Velar, a brand-new high-tech SUV that sports an almost fully touchscreen center console. While touchscreens are beautiful looking, the practical problem of using one in a moving vehicle is that there is no tactile feedback given to the driver during use. This creates a problem because it means you kind of have to look at the center console to use it. And not only that, you have adjust your point of reference every time you look at it because the nature of the touchscreen means that it could be showing any configuration rather than a set dashboard with physical buttons and knobs.
