OSGEMEOS: Silence Of The Music

If you're in NYC, you should go check out the OSGEMEOS exhibit at Lehmann Maupin gallery in Chelsea. The exhibit is entitled Silence Of The Music and features a ton of awesome work by the Brazilian twins. Super colorful and a special treat for the ears as you can see in the video below of one of the musical objects in the show. This show is the twins' first solo show in NYC so be sure to check it out!

That's me being a New Yorker and not caring that a bomb just exploded in my neighborhood

Just a still from the New York Times video below of me standing at the corner of 28th Street and Broadway in my T-shirt and blue shorts and backpack looking like an idiot while bombs were being found in my neighborhood.

I ran into the PoopFarter guy today in NYC

Today, I ran into the infamous PoopFarter man in NYC's Chelsea neighborhood. This performance artist walks around with loudspeakers of him saying the words "pooping" and "farting" while carrying signs and wearing a T-shirt that says the same thing. It is a unique way to grab attention and a reminder to all that we all do the same thing. You can follow him on Instagram here.

Tekserve is closing at the end of this month

This news makes me a bit sad: Tekserve, Chelsea's long-standing computer repair shop for Macs (and other electronics too!) is closing after 15 years in business. The owner cites rising rent (duh) and a slow-down of business in large part to the openings of Apple Stores and Best Buy right around the corner.

Tekserve was the Apple store before there even was an Apple store. For years, people would flock to Tekserve to get Macs serviced, buy Apple computer related accessories, and generally hang out. The shop was decorated with a ton of old Macintosh computers and other old electronics (toasters, TVs, radios, etc.).

No word on what they are doing to their remaining inventory, but if you go to the store now, they are having a 50% off clearance sale on almost everything except Apple computers. Still a lot to choose from.

It will be sad to see this one go. I wonder what will move in.
