There are no clouds in Google Maps and Google Earth
So Google just updated Google Maps and Google Earth satellite imagery with the latest batch of images from the Landsat 8 satellite. The images keep Google Maps fresh and still reigning as the absolute best maps client available on any platform.
But one thing I never realized until just now as I read it is that Google Maps has no clouds. It's been like this since 2013 apparently but it's been such a pleasure to not see clouds in satellite imagery that I forgot how annoying it would be if they were still there. I guess the best changes are those that the user doesn't even notice!
