Watch this incredibly cinematic video of KUKA Titan robots stacking steel beams
Normally these KUKA robot videos are highly saturated and filmed inside pristine, white-walled factories. This one is not like the others. It's filmed inside what looks like a dingy movie set (but it's a real steel factory) and is filmed in a much more cinematic style than the other KUKA videos I've seen. It's kind of nice. Change the music here and this could easily be portrayed as a movie trailer or something.
Look at the wheels on this KUKA omniMove Mobile Robot
I got a chance to see a bunch of KUKA robots up close when I toured the Audi factory in Germany. These robots are amazing. Extremely precise, very efficient, and surprisingly quiet. But I didn't quite get to see any KUKA robots on this sort of scale.
The KUKA omniMove Mobile Robot shown here is used to move large portions of Airbus' A380 fuselage during manufacturing. These giant moving platforms are able to maneuver in extremely tight factory spaces thanks to special wheels that "turn" the platform by moving laterally.
