No Cameras Allowed: How one photographer snuck his way into concerts around the world
I first heard about this documentary from Marcus Haney called No Cameras Allowed last year. The trailer made the rounds on the internet before disappearing mysteriously right before the documentary was released. I never quite found out why, but sometime since then the trailer was re-uploaded to YouTube. Here it is.
The MTV-produced (funded?) documentary follows photographer Marcus Haney as he sneaks into various venues and concerts with fake press badges and wristbands. A pretty ballsy move on his part that I'm sure I've thought about doing before. He did it, and it worked a lot!
Coldplay filmed a music video at Salvation Mountain?
Yes, I guess they did.
I can't get myself to like any of Coldplay's latest release. Their style musically and artistically has evolved so far from their earlier releases that I find it hard to relate to them at all anymore. I mean, this music video for "Birds" is a great example. What is this? Seriously, what is this? This is one of the highest grossing musical acts of today and they put out a music video that looks like somebody walked around and forgot that their Sony Mavica was left on video mode.
I suppose I should just chalk it up to the creative freedom and interpretation of Marcus Haney who directed the music video. This band and crew were at one of the most interesting places in all of the Southern California desert and this is what they produced? Blegh.
