Sabrent Rocket Q M.2 SSDs now available in 4TB and 8TB variations
I have had nothing but great success with these Sabrent M.2 SSDs. I personally use a 2TB one in a custom aluminum enclosure and it consistently delivers super-fast speeds on both read and write. While a bit expensive for now (but not as expensive as 4TB RAID SSDs), you can be sure that now that these are out that the prices will drop significantly very soon. Get them here if you need!
Sabrent USB 3.2 tool-free NVMe PCIe M Key enclosure for $35
I can personally vouch for this as it is the same item I currently house my 2TB NVMe hard drive in. The Sabrent brand is great and the enclosure is a hefty aluminum so it doesn’t feel cheap (plus it helps cool the SSD inside).
Right now, you can get this enclosure for a total of $35 if you apply the Amazon coupon on the product page (just check the box under the price). If you need a solid SSD to put in here, this is a good one as well.
Sabrent USB 3.1 Aluminum Enclosure for M.2 NVMe SSD
I just had to buy one of these for work and I was kind of blown away. I honestly thought this enclosure was going to be plasticky, just like many enclosures, and be pretty vulnerable to breaking under any sort of pressure. But no, this is a genuine all-metal enclosure with heft! It is heavy, in a good way, and it makes me feel like it will do a great job of protecting the valuable m.2 SSD that I put inside (which on another side note, seems to be cheaper than traditional 2.5” size SSDs).
My recommendation? Get this Sabrent USB 3.1 enclosure with the highly rated Intel 660p M.2 SSD. If you need insane speeds, the Samsung SSD 970 EVO is still king (but you’ll be paying a lot more).
