Weirdcore visuals and animations

Yesterday I posted M.I.A.'s music video for "XXXO" and did a little digging and it turns out that some of those visuals were not created by MIA herself but by somebody by the name of weirdcore. Not surprisingly, Weirdcore also did the visuals for Santigold's latest album (see below). I can only describe this visual style as early internet-era crudeness. I like it though and I want to see more.

Santigold released her album '99 Cents' at an event inside Jack's 99 Cent store in NYC

I never thought of Jack's 99 Cent store as a music venue. But here it is with Santigold headlining a very special and intimate show (about 300 people) to promote the release of her new album, 99 Cents (her official website is just a Tumblr).

I guess that's one way to show the cheap commodification of music over the years. Her album cover photo even shows herself as a cheap object sealed in a plastic bag.
