Dave Eggers' book, The Circle, now has a movie trailer
Except for the ending, I really enjoyed reading Dave Eggers' The Circle this year. Now, it seems like the book is being made into a movie of epic proportions. And as you've probably learned about society's fears being reflected in films, here is our fear of an omniscient technology company owning our very lives in the near future. Can't wait to see this!
This entire film was shot only using a DJI Inspire 2 drone
DJI announced the highly anticipated successor to the Inspire 1 professional drone with the Inspire 2. The new drone is packed with the top of the line flight features from DJI and an incredible ability to free filmmakers from the technical aspects of flying a drone so that they can focus more on the actual movie-making and directing process.
To prove this, DJI enlisted a crew to shoot an entire short film on the Inspire 2. Every single shot was done on the Inspire 2 drone which included handheld shots, chase scenes, follow shots, and rotational aerial views. The short film entitled The Circle stars Ryan Phillippe and Noah Schnapp and is directed by Sheldon Schwartz.

WHY DID THE BOOK END THAT WAY?! I want an alternate ending where everything works out in a positive way! And why was it so rushed?! Overall, still a very good read. But that rating brought down what would otherwise be an 8/10 to a 6/10.
One Book A Month (August): The Circle by Dave Eggers
Just started reading The Circle by Dave Eggers today. I'm not reading it because there's a movie based on the book coming out (although that's cool I guess), I'm reading it because it seems like a modern take on the whole dystopian future where information rules all. In many ways, the description of the book reminds me of my own interactions with Google and Facebook.
Anyway, pretty excited to read some fiction after last month's book. Have you read it? What did you think?
