Stephen Colbert hosts 'The Daily Show' reunion
I forget sometimes that Ed Helms was on The Daily Show. Crazy how successful these people all became. Loved hearing these stories. :)
We can finally put a face to the 5 stupidest people in the US
After months of back and forth, it is finally confirmed who the 5 stupidest people in the US are. These guys in the video above from The Daily Show. Ronny Chieng interviewed these 5 undecided voters ON ELECTION DAY to figure out what it is that has prevented them from choosing a side -- any side -- in this Presidential race.
Ronny goes so far as to even get them all to practice ACTUALLY TRYING TO MAKE A DECISION about two things they hate. They just can't do it. They don't have the mental capacity. They are, in other words, the dumbest people we know.
Putting North Carolina's Anti-LGBT law to the test
I'll be honest, I haven't been following this development since it doesn't pertain to my immediate state, but having The Daily Show put this new HB2 law in North Carolina into practice makes me pretty angry. The law doesn't just establish an overarching set of laws for the entire state, but it actually forces certain cities in North Carolina to backtrack (by law at least) on their progressive stances regarding LGBT individuals' rights.
The Charlotte Observer writes:
North Carolina’s new law sets a statewide definition of classes of people who are protected against discrimination: race, religion, color, national origin, age, handicap or biological sex as designated on a person’s birth certificate. Sexual orientation – people who are gay – was never explicitly protected under state law and is not now, despite recent court decisions that legalized same-sex marriage.
So what did The Daily Show do? They rented a BBQ truck and set up shop and blatantly started telling people that they weren't going to be served BBQ because they felt like the customer was gay. Hilarious, but scary to think that this is actually legal in NC right now.
Putting Donald Trump Supporters Through an Ideology Test
Trump recently spoke about putting immigrants through a US ideology test in order for everyone in this country to be on the same page with customs, beliefs, and values. So The Daily Show sent one of their own to a Trump rally to see if Trump's own supporters would be down with the ideals of the US. You know, things like freedom of religion, equal rights for all, respect for individual differences. Things like that.
The irony is strong with this one. I cannot believe some of the words coming out of these people's mouths.
The Daily Show asks people at the RNC 2016 when America was great
Haha, listen to these people stumbling over their words as they try to pinpoint the exact time in their heads when America was great. Where is this road they're on leading to?
