The secret origin story of the iPhone

The Verge has an excellent excerpt from an upcoming book by Brian Merchant called The One Device that chronicles the uphill battle to create the original iPhone at Apple.

The book can be pre-ordered now for late June delivery. Just from the excerpt alone, I can tell that this book is going to pair well with the origin story of the BlackBerry device from RIM.
