The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell
On a bit of a book binge lately and I'm looking forward to jumping straight into my next book. I've chosen The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell. If the title sounds familiar, it's because there's a major motion picture coming out with the same title which is very much based on this book.
The book is a tell-all tale about the making of The Room, a film that is widely considered to be the worst movie ever made.
I'm a good portion through with it already and so far it's very funny and weird.
A poster for 'The Disaster Artist'
Oh God, somebody is selling this on Amazon for $22. It's a real poster for the movie.
Something odd about Tommy Wiseau
Is Tommy Wiseau the infamous D.B. Cooper? Does Tommy have brain damage? Or maybe he's a sad genius?
Anyway, the latest trailer for The Disaster Artist really starts to paint Tommy Wiseau as a sort of odd personality. Almost over the top, until you read snippets of the book that it was based on (also called The Disaster Artist) and realize it is a very real depiction of him from his [former] best friend.
