Moog's Minimoog Model D app is now $5
Can you really do all of this with this Minimoog app? This seems amazing for $5.
Tweeten
I guess I haven't really needed to find a new macOS Twitter client lately, but upon updating my home computers to High Sierra (finally), I found that the Tweetdeck macOS app doesn't really play nice with it. There's still the Tweetdeck web interface, but that lives in a browser and the way I use my browser on my computers, I can't really have Twitter hidden and buried underneath all my other tabs.
So I went in search of a new alternative. I almost paid for Tweetbot for Mac, and then at the last moment, I discovered Tweeten. Tweeten is based off of Tweetdeck which explains the familiar layout and most of the keyboard shortcuts are the same. There are a few improvements in Tweeten, like layout, account handling, and DM handling, and overall I think it's a solid FREE alternative to the official Twitter app. Tweetdeck users will feel right at home.
Helium: A floating browser window for macOS
I think I've talked about this app before, but if you ever need a floating window (think Picture-In-Picture) on your Mac desktop, this is a reminder that Helium is probably the best option. Super easy to use and works on most major video platforms.
Plates by Splitwise – split dinner bills with ease
This is the most amazing app. Where it really shines is its ability to split shared dishes between select people on a table rather than just simply making everybody (even those who didn't eat a particular dish) pay the shared amount.
The Most Dangerous Writing App erases your progress if you stop typing
I tried to write this entire post body using The Most Dangerous Writing App. But then it erased it. But thankfully, I took a screengrab of the page before it went all red.
The Most Dangerous Writing app is a panic-inducing writing space that lets you compose your thoughts and erases it if you get distracted or stop typing.
Transit 4.0 is now out
A little late with this post, but in case you haven't heard, Transit 4.0 is out. The latest version is a major update to the best transit app in the world (I personally recommend it to New Yorkers and tourists alike). This new version includes a new feature called GO which uses your phone's location to give you up-to-the-minute data about your trip. Things like when to start walking to your stop or when to get ready to get off the train or even when you are going to be late to your destination because of unforeseen track troubles. All of this, of course, is working alongside Transit's insane amount of real-time train and bus tracking which they've built into the app.
Oh, and if you're a user who just hasn't made the upgrade yet, you should. There's a new look, a new logo, and a new color to enjoy.
