Eating at The American Girl Cafe in Los Angeles
I know somebody that would love coming here!!!!!!! It's not me, but I'd be happy to take them just so I could take a bunch of weird ass photos. Anyway, the giggles in this episode are kind of funny. Made me chuckle.
Music video shows the life of a wooden doll stuck in a penny arcade
This is the official music video for Jane Bordeaux's "Ma'agalim". The video is directed by Uri Lotan and features a cutesy little world of wooden characters living on a revolving wooden spool inside a machine. I absolutely love the way this is all animated and wish so much that this sort of machine was real.
A woman in Japan makes dolls of dead people and fills her town with them
Add this woman to the list of odd characters from Japan. Ayano Tsukimi is a 64-year-old woman who lives in Nagoro, a village in Eastern Iya on Shikoku. For the past 10 years, she has been making dolls of deceased people and placing them in their favorite places around time. The dolls are life-sized (or close to it) and are usually made in the likeness of the deceased.
Though her art is meant to be a tribute to the dead (and those who have moved away from the island), she admits that her hard work only really lasts about 3 years in the wild before succumbing to the elements.
