Oregon tourism office promotes the state with game modeled after Oregon Trail
This is kind of awesome. Travel Oregon made a playable tourism game for the state modeled after the classic Oregon Trail game. You can play it here.
Project Highrise is finally a noteworthy SimTower successor
This video game called Project Highrise is being released on September 8 but LGR has already posted a review of it. It looks and sounds like a notable successor to the classic tower simulation game SimTower. With nice clean graphics, similar vertical gameplay, and a host of other new trials and tasks to complete, Project Highrise looks to be worth all of the $19.99 pricetag it is asking for on Steam. Maybe I'll waste a few good hours on this.
Have you played Stack?
A game from Ketchapp called Stack has lately been a small obsession of mine. It's a really simple game involving moving slabs of colors which you have to line up as closely as possible to the slab below it. Each misalignment means a loss in surface area to stack on top of and the game continues until you miss the stack entirely.
The replay value of this game is pretty high in my opinion. There's no storyline and the only goal is to beat your high score. Utterly simple and beautiful. You can play this anywhere, anytime, and kill as much time as you need.
