The 2020 iMac is pretty good for the next couple of years
I completely agree with this assessment of the 2020 iMac update. It is an iMac Pro in a regular iMac case and now there’s no reason for the iMac Pro to exist in Apple’s desktop lineup.
For most people, this iMac is going to be the computer to buy now to last the next couple of years (I’d say 5-10 depending on your needs).
HPRC 4800W iMac case review
Hmm, I might consider this as a travel case if I ever buy another 27” monitor. It’s much cheaper than the Tenba cases which I’ve been using.
Watch an iMac get blown to pieces by a combustion tube
The ultra-slow-motion here almost looks like CGI due to the clarity. Amazing how the shockwave is captured here as well.
Tim Cook says Mac desktops are in Apple's future
I'll believe this when I see it: Tim Cook says the Apple desktop computer isn't dead -- yet. But his letter to Apple employees which was posted by TechCrunch confirms that Apple at least has some plan for future Mac desktops in store. Unfortunately, Tim Cook only mentions the iMac in his statement which has left many to assume that the Mac Mini and Mac Pro are essentially done.
If that's the case, I guess now is a good time to consider my Mac Pro vintage machinery? I dunno, is it worth more than I bought it for yet?
Colorware can make your new iMac look like an old retro Mac
Got $3800 lying around? Sure you do! Everybody does right? So why not spend all that extra cash you have on this retro-styled (or retro-colored) Apple 27" iMac? Limited to just 25 units, this special re-coloring of the aluminum iMac turns your new computer into a slightly older looking unit while still maintaining all that blazing fast speed in the iMac. I forgot how nice that rainbow Apple logo looked on beige. Man, beige...the most boring color in the world and the color of all PCs for a hot minute. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!
