How the "Plandemic" movie spread widely online
The internet, in some ways, is making us all a bit dumber. This is now a great time to dive into The New York Times podcast, The Rabbit Hole, about a very similar topic on how the internet is changing us.
Rabbit Hole: A NYT podcast about how the internet is changing and how it’s changing us
Rabbit Hole, from The New York Times, is currently my favorite podcast. The podcast takes a deep dive into internet culture (think right wing, incel culture, gamergate, etc.) and talks about how those subcultures are created and expanded thanks in large part to companies like Google/YouTube testing algorithms on its users.
REPLY ALL: The case of the missing hit
WOW! This is a really great episode of Reply All where the hosts go in search for a hit song that a caller is sure is real.
Running From Cops
I’m just finishing this podcast called Running From Cops about how the TV show COPS has changed the way American police do their jobs.
The podcast touches on a lot of the same issues and changes mentioned in the book Rise of the Warrior Cop which explains how cops went from community helpers to pseudo-military troops.
The Librarian Is In - A podcast from the New York Public Library
It’s not new or anything so there’s plenty to catch up on if you’re like me and just finding out about this now.
NPR Podcast follows police investigation
I would watch an entire series of this if it turned into one (not Portlandia, just the idea of an NPR Podcast following a group of officers live).
