Did you know Kobe Bryant had a short-lived music career as a rapper? It's right there in his Wikipedia, but it's so small that it's very easy to miss. I first learned about this through a Nardwuar interview with Snoop Dogg (yeah, go figure) where Nardwuar gifts a vinyl of Kobe's album to Snoop. It's what dreams are made of, I'm sure.

This single, "K.O.B.E." featured Tyra Banks. That's right. TYRA BANKS. Somewhere in an alternate reality, these two are mega-famous rap stars. I wonder what that world is like.

YOOOOO, this kid is alright!

In what is bound to be the most surprising musical find of the year [for me], this very young Asian teen called Rich Chigga raps with the deepest voice you ever heard on a 16 year old and a real flow that rivals some of the best trap/hip-hop artists in the industry.

From what I understand, this is just the beginning of Rich Chigga's career. The 16 year old lives in Jakarta, Indonesia and learned his English watching YouTube! Whhhhatttt. I mean, that alone...what...just...give this kid some time in the recording studio! I want to see what he comes up with!
