Just a note to myself that these big plastic tags with metal rings are called Nasco Nylon Flex Tags.
Faking It: The Obviously Dubbed Telephone Ring
This is a Model 500 Western Electric telephone. So many interesting tidbits here about this phone -- such as the 1/3 ring tone difference, the reason why big cities have shorter area codes (shorter distance when dialing), and how you can change the volume of the ring by turning a metal piece at the bottom of the phone.
