Over 30 million unemployment claims have been filed since the start of the pandemic
This is not good. This past week alone there were 3.8 million new unemployment claims.
Unemployment soars to 22 million
On April 2nd, 6 million people (including yours truly) filed for unemployment. Just two weeks later, that number is now 22 million. By some reports, this number is now the highest it has been since the Great Depression.

Unemployment claims now top 6 million
At the end of last week, an unprecedented 3.3 million people filed for unemployment in the United States. It was, at the time, the highest number ever recorded. That is, until today, where the count is now over 6 million. I am a part of that 6 million.
