The DENON DP 47F Turntable - an Automatic Classic
Holy cow. I had no idea turntables could be so complicated. Makes me appreciate higher-end models like this a bit more.
VHD: When movies were placed on vinyl
Not exactly vinyl like a record, but still not plastic like a DVD. Pretty interesting to see this format and how it works with the machine it was intended for. I actually enjoy watching the VHD being pulled automatically out of the sleeve when loading. Neat idea, but prone to breaking and malfunction.
What a tortilla sounds like on a record player
I'm sorry everybody. This was just too funny.
There's an awesome hologram on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack vinyl
This is one of the coolest vinyls I've ever seen. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack vinyl comes with two different holograms that show when you shine a light on it. One side has tie fighters and the other side has the Millennium Falcon. So awesome.
Mae's "The Everglow" album returns in colorful vinyl form
I don't care for vinyl really, but there's something visually appealing about Mae's latest re-release of their best album, The Everglow, on this insane colorful vinyl. The double LP comes in 3 variants and a 28-page foil-stamped storybook (most likely similar to the storybook that came in the original The Everglow CD release).
Each version is $29.99. Get it here!
How a vinyl record is made
Watching the video above reminds me of that time back in 2014 when I took advantage of Open House New York's tour of Brooklynphono (one of the few remaining vinyl record makers on the East Coast).
If you missed that post back on the old Doobybrain, I put the photos below.Enjoy!
