Probation Vacation: Lost In Asia
I've watched every Probation Vacation video so far and really wanted this book but could never get past the overseas shipping charge for it. Well, lucky me, The Grifters offered free express shipping this past week and here it is, my very own copy of Probation Vacation: Lost In Asia!
Drift Magazine Vol. 4: Stockholm
It's here! And for the first time ever, I was able to pick this baby up locally (I probably could have done it for the issues before but I never thought to do so).
The coffee-centered magazine takes on Stockholm for its 4th volume. Once again, offering beautiful words and images to go along with your caffeine obsession. This is my favorite magazine at the moment and Drift seems to be hitting each issue out of the ballpark. Pick this up!
Dr. Seuss taxidermy
Are you a huge fan of Dr. Seuss and his characters? Maybe you'd like to see them dead, stuffed, and on your wall! If that sounds like you, your dreams can be a reality with the Dr. Seuss taxidermy collection. These expensive pieces of wall art cut off the heads of your favorite Dr. Seuss book characters and turn them into wall ornaments. Perfect for conversation starters like "Why?".
Losing The Signal: The rise and fall of BlackBerry
I'm going through this book quite quickly. I started Losing The Signal a little late for this month (it's my July book) but already I'm speeding right along, thanks mostly in part to the phenomenal storytelling and writing. The book revisits all of the spectacular coincidences that founded RIM (BlackBerry's parent company) and how the mobile device maker ushered in the era of data on mobile devices for consumers.
A really great book so far and hopefully one that I'll finish on time if it keeps up!
June book: The Song Machine by John Seabrook
I am now officially 1 book behind in my one-book-a-month schedule. That sucks. Been a crazy busy June I guess which translates to me having almost no time at all to do any recreational reading.
But if you're curious what I am reading for June, it's this book, The Song Machine by John Seabrook.
Fore-edge painting on books
"A charming lost art..." Yes, this is very cool. I had a book or two back in the day that had this on it and I remember as a kid drawing my name on some of the fore-edges of my textbooks in school. Always fun to do, and even more fun revealing the secret to those who didn't suspect it.
