Drift Volume 6: Mexico City
One of the best coffee publications is out with its newest issue, Volume 6, which centers around Mexico City. You can order the magazine now to ship directly to you or pick it up at your local stockist! Can't wait to see these glorious pages!
The 1940 United States Census is now completely digitized
The New York Public Library took the Bureau of Census' 1940 census and digitized the entire microfilm for public access. The data here gives a slice of what America was like during WWII.
You can see and search all of this data right here.
PS: The US National Archives' YouTube channel is fantastic.
A tour of the tunnels underneath Las Vegas
This video from Stories (???) reminds me of the book Beneath The Neon by Matthew O'Brien. Earlier this year, I almost tried to go into some of these tunnels but I stopped myself when I couldn't find somebody to do it with me.
This is the Amazon Bookstore at Columbus Circle
Cool experience, and I guess it's nice to get Amazon pricing in-store. But overall incredibly sterile. Everything is automated or self-checking and there are no prices on anything (because it's just Amazon.com pricing). Would be interesting to see one of these on ground-level somewhere else in the city. For now, it's tucked away at the top of the shops at Columbus Circle.
Adrian Tomine Original Art available now at Todd Hignite Comic Art
Oh man, even if you don't have the funds to purchase one of these original illustrations ($$$$) from Adrian Tomine, you should check them out anyway. Adrian is one of my favorite artists and this is the first time I've ever seen original uncolored artwork like this from him. Pretty awesome!
If you want something a bit more affordable, I highly suggest buying Adriane's book Killing and Dying (buy the hardcover -- it's cheaper and more fancy). Or buy some of his art prints. :)
