Look at these fan-renderings of the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco

Did you know this? There's a confirmed re-birth of the Ford Bronco coming in 2020. It's said that one of the main reasons Ford discontinued the Bronco was because of the negative image it received after O.J. Simpson drove it on LA freeways during a televised police pursuit.

Fans of the Bronco however have kept the spirit of this vehicle alive. Some shops, like ICON specialize in reviving the outdated car with newer components, while plenty of others are content just to be able to buy the car 2nd-hand in good condition. They are affordable old cars, but not necessarily cheap (I've looked several times because I would love to own one).

So anyway, while there are no official images yet of the 2020 Ford Bronco, these fan renderings of what it could look like are pretty enticing. It would be amazing if Ford was taking note here.

Japan's Dekotora light-up truck culture

It was just yesterday that I posted about the Horn Please documentary which I noted made me think of Japan's own decorated truck culture known as Dekotora. These trucks, unlike their Indian counterparts, are more electricity-based. AND THEY LOOK INSANE. These Dekotora/Decotora trucks aren't just covered in lights, they are often modified to look like Transformers.

The video above is an awesome look at one of these Decotora meetups, but if you want to see more, VICE did an episode on this subculture a few years back which you can watch below.

The NYPD's Total Containment Vessel

It's been a pretty busy 48 hours in my neighborhood. At approximately 8:30PM on Saturday night, an IED device exploded on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues injuring 29 people. A 2nd device was found a few blocks away on 27th Street and 7th Avenue. This 2nd device did not explode but instead was hauled away in an NYPD vehicle that I had never seen before. According to the New York Times, this was the police department's "Total Containment Vessel", a vehicle meant to trap pressure inside of its hull in case a bomb exploded.

As of this morning, the main suspect, Ahmad Rahami, was captured in Linden, NJ and at the moment no other suspects are at large. Pretty quick turnaround of events. I can't even imagine what amount of work that must have taken to piece everything together like that in just under 2 days.

Ken Block's Gymkhana 9

Ken Block's latest Gymkhana video (number nine!) is just amazing. I think this might be my favorite one so far because it's set in Buffalo, NY, a place that holds very special memories for me. From that first shot of the interior of Buffalo Central Station, the entire Gymkhana 9 video was a trip down memory lane for me when I drove to and explored Buffalo. I remember jumping fences to get to certain areas of this station. I remember watching trains roll by atop the giant water basins behind this place. It actually doesn't look that different from when I was last there.
