Foursquare for 2016

2016 is over and that means I have finally compiled my 2016 Foursquare travel map. I kept it simple this year with most of my exploring concentrated to NYC with a few trips dispersed throughout the world due to traveling with work.

Looking at this map, I think my goal this year is to explore less of the world and more of NYC. I mean, there's so much to know about NY and I've barely scratched the surface. Time to get crackin!

Donald Trump doesn't tweet for you, he tweets for himself

No surprise here, but as always Nerdwriter puts it into more eloquent words: Donald Trump is just like us, tweeting the most stupid comments onto Twitter which automatically makes it news. But what he's doing isn't new, it's just new for the office of the President.

With all this news of Twitter being in dire financial circumstances, I wonder what he'll do if Twitter shuts down during the next 4 years.

Turning 30

When I was 29, I ate this:

Rocket Pig
Joe's Coffee

When I turned 30, I ate this:

La Colombe
Federal Donuts
Sushi

Detroit Summer 2016

I'm glad that my YouTube subscriptions are not public becaue if opeople were allowed to scrutinize what I follow on there they would have so many questions. Haha. Anyway, one of the ones I'm finally willing to share (because it's so insanely interesting) is this channel known simply as CharlieBo313.

If you don't already know, 313 is one of the area codes for Detroit, Michigan where this channel's owner is based. What he does it, he gets in his car and just films the city in all of its glory and decay. No filters. There are drug deals, prostitutes, crimes in progress, street fights, homeless, and everything in between. There is almost never any commentary which is just fantastic. You get to watch life unfold in raw video.

And if Detroit isn't your cup of tea, CharlieBo313 has done similar things in Chicago's South Side (THESE VIDEOS ARE AMAZING), Toledo, Cleveland, and probably a few others I've missed along the way. It's a treasure trove of the grittier portions of life in inner-city Detroit which shows that despite the revitalization efforts, there's still a long ways to go. Can't wait to go back.
