Soma Folding Front Rack

One of the things I never really had to think about previously with my bikes was how to angle them just right during parking to get it to fit nicely with a rack or other bikes around me. But with a front rack, this maneuver actually becomes quite an issue in NYC pretty often. I sometimes have to lock it really off-center from the rack (leaning heavily on the frame or just floating the bike and hoping gravity plays nicely).

I didn’t even know folding racks like this existed, but here’s an expensive one from Soma called the PORTFOLDER II FRONT RACK. It looks just as sturdy as any other front rack and the folding mechanism seems pretty robust and trustworthy. I’m gonna try this and see how it plays in real-world settings, especially here in NY.
