Carson-Dellosa: The creators of the classic ‘90s classroom illustration
Who remembers these elementary school illustrations in classrooms?
I definitely grew up on this style of artwork. As an adult, it’s kind of neat to learn about its history and the original teaching background that inspired its creators to make this art for the entire US public education system.
Semi-retired now, one of the founders Janet Dellosa is still making art to this day and you can buy it on Etsy!
How does Disney create the Beast transformation on stage?
A great explanation of the Tokyo Disneyland illusion for Beauty and the Beast on stage.
The explanation of how this is done is great, but the homemade re-creation of this actual illusion is really where the gold is!

Making a CRT tv wall
If I had the space for this I’d want one of these.
This is pretty cool. This Atlanta-based filmmaker created a CRT tv wall in his studio.
Severance season 2 episode 7 montage
The most beautiful episode of Severance yet!
In the 2nd season of Severance, Canadian DP Jessica Lee Gagné filmed some of the most beautiful flashback scenes in the whole show on film.
Here she is in an interview talking about her process and working with Ben Stiller and other directors in the show about the choices they make to really create visual art.
A little history of the K67 kiosk
I want a little model version of this as a desk toy.
I love this little piece of practical design known as the K67 kiosk. Produced mostly in Yugoslavia, this kiosk took over Europe in the mid-20th century because of its adaptability for various uses. It could be stand-alone as a newspaper stand or a small frit stand, or be connected through its modular design to become something bigger, like a make-shift or temporary police station.
Unfortunately, these were phased out slowly by the 2000s and today very few are intact.
If you’re in NYC, you can see one of these in person at the MoMA.
TTArtisan announces a folding Instax film camera
A new Instax Mini camera from TTArtisan
Wow, I did not expect to see a new Instax film camera announcement, especially one from lens maker TTArtisan. There’s no price announced yet, but TTArtisan is already advertising this beautiful looking camera on their Instagram and it natively accepts Instax Mini (the best Instax format in my opinion). If it is under $150, I may have to pick one of these up as it looks like it has a leaf shutter?!
Midnight Generation live at Majalca
Live from Mexico!
This band has been on repeat lately. Really love their art direction as well as their music.
Secret Mall Apartment
Would you live inside a mall?
I really want to watch this documentary called Secret Mall Apartment about a true story of a few people from Rhode Island who ended up living inside the Providence Place mall back in 2003.
