Just came across the Freewrite Wordrunner, a mechanical keyboard with a built-in word counter that doesn’t stop counting even when the keyboard isn’t connected to a computer.

Ciro DIT digiplate

Really intrigued by the number of new companies coming out with digiplates. Ciro is advertising heavily on social media (which can be a good or bad thing!) but their plate looks promising if it can stand up to the rigors of moving around on set. It has a ton of anti-twist connectors (great for arms and such) and its design might make it one of the lightest digiplates around.

I don’t need one, but I would love to see/test one!

VFD Displays

I’ve been obsessed with vacuum fluorescent display technology lately. Otherwise known as VFD, these displays were popular on Japanese electronics and stereo systems.

Hmm, I had no idea the Oscar statuette is covered in actual gold.

Carson-Dellosa: The creators of the classic ‘90s classroom illustration

I definitely grew up on this style of artwork. As an adult, it’s kind of neat to learn about its history and the original teaching background that inspired its creators to make this art for the entire US public education system.

Semi-retired now, one of the founders Janet Dellosa is still making art to this day and you can buy it on Etsy!

How does Disney create the Beast transformation on stage?

The explanation of how this is done is great, but the homemade re-creation of this actual illusion is really where the gold is!
