PhotoScan from Google uses your smartphone as a clever scanner for printed photos

PhotoScan by Google Photos is an app that uses your smartphone to "scan" printed photos to keep in digital form. The app works incredibly well, doing away with glare and reflections even if the photo is behind glass or in a picture frame. It's one of those apps that truly made me go "Wow!" in surprise because it really did just work as advertised. The scans are of decent quality too -- great for social media sharing. Don't expect ultra-HD scans though. For that, you'll still need a proper scanner.
