Today's open office layouts are bad copies of revolutionary ideas

I don't know a single thing about open office design, but after watching this Vox video, it is clear that modern offices have taken the most meaningless part of open office design and incorporated into dull and squashed workspaces. I mean, look at Frank Lloyd Wright's design below and compare it to any other modern office you've seen without cubicles. VERY DIFFERENT and clearly not just about the lack of dividers between desks.
