Today's open office layouts are bad copies of revolutionary ideas
I don't know a single thing about open office design, but after watching this Vox video, it is clear that modern offices have taken the most meaningless part of open office design and incorporated into dull and squashed workspaces. I mean, look at Frank Lloyd Wright's design below and compare it to any other modern office you've seen without cubicles. VERY DIFFERENT and clearly not just about the lack of dividers between desks.

The ErgoChair by Autonomous
Rain Noe over at Core77 posted about the ErgoChair by Autonomous and the idea of it caught my attention. Autonomous, a robotics company, is trying to use what they've learned in that industry and apply it to chair production. Their goal was to make an ergonomic office chair, like the Aeron, for a price point around $100. If you can believe it can be done, that's only a fraction of what the Aeron costs with the same comfort level. I'm skeptical, but for $199, maybe I should try.
A tour of MAD Magazine's office
I was reading the Wikipedia article on Alfred E. Neuman, MAD Magazine's child mascot, when I came across this Gothamist video that tours the offices of MAD Magazine. This place could easily open as a museum and charge admission. I mean, there's just so much stuff! GOOD STUFF.
