Life After Water: What the drought is doing to California farmers
Andrew Michael Ellis directed this video about the devastating drought that has plagued California's Central Valley. The area is home to some of the country's largest produce farmers and the 2015 drought marked the 4th year in a row where water scarcity has caused farmers to uproot trees and look towards potentially shutting down entire farms.
The problem is of great concern mainly because many people in the US don't live on farms but rely heavily on American agriculture to feed urban cities. Without these rural farms, fruits and vegetable prices will rise which could easily trickle down into other negative effects for society.
