The iPhone 7's Portrait Mode Screws Up Sometimes - Gizmodo
I don't understand why anybody would ever want software-driven depth of field. Not only does it look bad but it apparently doesn't do a good job. Not even Apple can polish this turd of a feature.
Apple's beautiful iPhone 7 'Balloons' commercial
At first, Apple pays homage to the 1956 film by Albert Lamorisse called The Red Balloon. Then the commercial rapidly introduces several other balloon colors and I start thinking, wow, this is like that Sony BRAVIA commercial with the bouncing balls set to Jose Gonzalez's music. And best of all, it's all set in Chicago.

Video of people having a hard time finding the shuffle button in iOS 10
I mentioned this briefly in a previous post but iOS 10 is the first time I can remember in the history of using iOS where I really felt stumped on how it all worked. The new Messages app is a confusing mess (fun though after you read the manual...or watch a how-to) and the new Music app is just not intuitive at all. Just watch these people above try to figure out where the shuffle function is in the Music app. I mean, a standard, basic function...is more or less hidden and undiscoverable by common means. Who would ever think of scrolling down to find the shuffle button? Discoverability has really taken a nosedive with iOS 10 and it's not a good sign of things to come if this is the new pattern.
Awaiting the deluge of iPhone 7 videos in water
Of all of the features in the new iPhone 7 (which I am now holding in my hand), the one I am most happy and excited about is the new ability to get it wet. And not just splash-proof wet either. I'm talking submerge-in-the-ocean wet. There are still some ways to get liquid damage on the phone, but for most people, the IP67 rating of the iPhone 7 means the accidental drop into a standard pool or toilet won't ruin your day.
The IP67 rating isn't supposed to cover salt water, but at least one person has already documented the iPhone 7 in the ocean and it seems to be fine.
