A little history of the K67 kiosk

I want a little model version of this as a desk toy.

I love this little piece of practical design known as the K67 kiosk. Produced mostly in Yugoslavia, this kiosk took over Europe in the mid-20th century because of its adaptability for various uses. It could be stand-alone as a newspaper stand or a small frit stand, or be connected through its modular design to become something bigger, like a make-shift or temporary police station.

Unfortunately, these were phased out slowly by the 2000s and today very few are intact.

TTArtisan announces a folding Instax film camera

A new Instax Mini camera from TTArtisan

Wow, I did not expect to see a new Instax film camera announcement, especially one from lens maker TTArtisan. There’s no price announced yet, but TTArtisan is already advertising this beautiful looking camera on their Instagram and it natively accepts Instax Mini (the best Instax format in my opinion). If it is under $150, I may have to pick one of these up as it looks like it has a leaf shutter?!

Turning an old school in Indiana into a home

The coolest home in Indiana.

I’ve been following this family’s journey in converting an old school in Indiana into a huge single-family home ever since the height of the pandemic lockdown. It is one of the coolest architectural transformations and re-use cases I’ve ever seen. It has taken the family years to get this transformation done and in September 2024 they finally moved in to their place in Indiana.
