Stolen Kingdom: The story of theft and mischief at Disney World

What happens behind the scenes at Walt Disney World?

A new film from White Lake Productions and Bright Sun Films called Stolen Kingdom is screening today in Los Angeles and the premise is quite extraordinary.

Stolen Kingdom is a documentary that delves into the history of mischief, scandal, and theft at Walt Disney World, ultimately leading to the theft of an animatronic valued at nearly half a million dollars. The film features key figures from the park’s underground exploration community, each sharing their unique stories. As the narrative unfolds, early pranks and antics are shown to have inspired more recent crimes, culminating in a true crime mystery. What begins as a tale of friendship and passion ends with one lingering question: Who stole Buzzy?

NYC's San Juan Hill, before it became Lincoln Center

A NYC neighborhood lost to gentrification.

Lincoln Center recently acknowledged its role in the displacement of an entire neighborhood in NYC with the screening of a film called San Juan Hill: Manhattan’s Lost Neighborhood, directed by Stanley Nelson.

This 60-minute film has a very limited release and I’m trying to find a place to watch it. For now, enjoy this trailer for the film.

The history of the Filet-O-Fish

What’s inside the Filet-O-Fish?

McDonald's Filet O Fish

I know this may gross some of you out, but if I had to choose a sandwich at McDonald’s, it would almost always be the Filet-O-Fish. This unassuming sandwich at McDonald’s always reminds me of my dad (he used to order this too!) and there was always something dangerous and mysterious about ordering a fish sandwich from a place known for their burgers. Also…the fish was in the shape of a square. It was all really weird and as a kid I loved it!

That ultra-smooth glistening bun is perfect and honestly, I want one right now as I’m writing this. And yes, this sandwich actually is fish.
